The IBG 35065 3Ro Italian Truck with 100mm Howitzer and Crew is a comprehensive 1/35 scale plastic model kit that delivers a complete WWII artillery scene in one box. Combining the rugged Fiat 3Ro truck, a detailed 100mm field howitzer, and four crew figures, this set offers everything needed to build a dynamic and historically accurate Italian artillery deployment display.
Historical Background
The Fiat 3Ro truck was a cornerstone of Italian military logistics during World War II, valued for its durability, range, and ability to operate in harsh environments, particularly in the deserts of North Africa. These trucks were widely used for transport, supply, and artillery towing duties.
The Cannone da 100/17 100mm howitzer was one of Italy’s primary field artillery pieces, capable of providing:
- Indirect fire support for infantry units
- Defensive fire in fixed or mobile positions
- Flexible deployment across varied terrain
To operate effectively, artillery units required trained crews—typically responsible for positioning, loading, aiming, and firing the gun. In mobile warfare environments such as North Africa (1940–1943), trucks like the 3Ro enabled artillery units to quickly reposition, maintaining effectiveness in fast‑moving battles.
