The Voyager Model PEA114 Ammunition Set is a premium 1/35 scale aftermarket detailing accessory designed for German WWII Hummel self‑propelled artillery vehicles and the famous 15cm s.FH 18 heavy field howitzer. Featuring finely detailed ammunition rounds and storage components, this set provides advanced modelers with the perfect upgrade for creating realistic artillery displays and combat dioramas.
Historical Background
The German 15cm s.FH 18 (schwere Feldhaubitze 18) was one of the Wehrmacht’s primary heavy field howitzers during World War II. Known for its:
- Powerful high‑explosive capability
- Long service life
- Effective indirect fire support
the s.FH 18 served throughout the war on all major fronts, including:
- The Eastern Front
- North Africa
- Italy
- Western Europe
To improve battlefield mobility, the gun was eventually mounted on armored tracked chassis, resulting in the famous Hummel self‑propelled gun. These vehicles provided mobile artillery support for German armored formations and required extensive onboard ammunition storage for sustained operations.
Artillery ammunition and shell handling were critical parts of combat operations, making ammo racks, shell crates, and projectiles highly visible and important elements in realistic artillery dioramas.
