The ICM DS3521 Before the Assault. Eastern Ukraine 2022 figure set offers modelers a compelling and contemporary narrative scene, capturing the quiet tension immediately preceding combat. Produced in 1/35 scale, this plastic figure kit focuses on preparation, coordination, and anticipation rather than active engagement, making it a strong storytelling centerpiece for modern military dioramas.
Historical Context
The events in Eastern Ukraine in 2022 marked a profound shift in modern ground warfare, with widespread use of combined arms, urban fighting, and infantry‑centric operations supported by modern equipment. Prior to assaults, small units frequently paused to coordinate, prepare weapons, check equipment, and communicate—moments defined by focus and readiness rather than motion.
This figure set represents such a moment, illustrating the human and tactical reality of modern conflict without depicting violence itself. It reflects how contemporary soldiers operate in structured but tense environments, often in ruined urban or semi‑rural terrain.
