1/35 German APV Katzchen - Thunder Model TM35104

The Thunder Model TM35104 1/35 1/35 German APV Kätzchen Armored Personnel Carrier is a premium 1/35 scale kit from Thunder Model. Thunder Model is a Chinese manufacturer that has built a strong reputation for producing highly detailed 1/35 scale kits of engineering, transport, and utility vehicles — subjects that other manufacturers have largely ignored. Their range covers US Army engineering tractors and heavy wreckers, the British Scammell Pioneer family, LRDG patrol vehicles, German railway wagons, and other specialist subjects that are available from no other manufacturer in 1/35 scale.

The Kätzchen ('Kitten') was a German prototype armored personnel carrier developed in 1944-45 on components derived from the Hetzer tank destroyer — an attempt to provide German Panzergrenadiers with a purpose-built, fully tracked APC rather than relying on vulnerable half-tracks. Only a handful of prototypes were built before Germany's defeat ended the program. The Kätzchen represents one of the most unusual and historically interesting 'what-if' subjects of late German armor development, and Thunder Model's kit is the definitive 1/35 treatment of this rare prototype.
