The Amusing Hobby 1/35 Sd.Kfz.184 Ferdinand with 16t Strabokran (35A030) delivers a highly detailed and visually striking combination kit that brings together one of Germany’s most powerful tank destroyers and the engineering equipment used to service heavy armored vehicles in the field.
The Ferdinand, originally deployed at the Battle of Kursk in 1943, was built on Porsche’s Tiger (P) chassis and armed with the formidable 88mm Pak 43/2 L/71 gun. Its long‑range firepower and thick frontal armor made it one of the most feared tank destroyers of the war, despite early mechanical issues and the lack of a hull machine gun. The vehicle represents a key moment in German armored development and remains a favorite among modelers.
The included 16‑ton Strabokran was a portable gantry crane used by German maintenance units to lift heavy tank components such as engines, transmissions, and turrets. Its distinctive A‑frame structure and operational role make it an excellent centerpiece for dioramas depicting field repairs or recovery operations.
Amusing Hobby’s kit captures both subjects with exceptional detail:
Highly detailed Ferdinand hull, casemate, and 88mm gun assembly
Accurate early‑production features and sharp surface textures
Fully detailed 16t Strabokran crane with structural framing and lifting gear
Link‑and‑length tracks for realistic sag and easy assembly
Clean molding and excellent fit for a smooth build
Perfect for maintenance‑themed dioramas, Kursk displays, or standalone builds
Large visual presence that stands out in any German armor collection
This dual‑subject kit offers endless creative possibilities—whether you’re recreating a battlefield repair scene or showcasing the Ferdinand alongside its support equipment.
