1/35 Tank T-50 Aplic Armor - Mirage 35106

The Mirage Hobby 35106 1/35 1/35 Soviet Light Tank T-50 with Appliqué Armor is a premium 1/35 scale model kit from Mirage Hobby, the Polish manufacturer specializing in inter-war and WWII light AFV subjects. Mirage Hobby is a Polish manufacturer that has carved a unique niche in 1/35 scale modeling — specializing in inter-war and early WWII subjects that no other manufacturer covers, with a particular focus on Polish, French, and British light tanks and carriers of the 1930s. Their kits often represent the only 1/35 scale treatment of their subjects, making them essential for collectors of these specialist eras.

The T-50 was one of the Soviet Army's most promising light tank designs of the pre-war period — a well-armored, well-armed vehicle that in many respects surpassed German light tanks of the same era. The T-50 featured sloped armor reminiscent of the T-34, a 45mm gun, and a diesel engine. However, production difficulties and the emergency shift to simpler T-60 production during the crisis of 1941 meant only a handful were completed. The appliqué armor variant adds additional plate over the hull for enhanced protection, making it one of the most unusual T-50 variants. Mirage Hobby is one of the few manufacturers to cover this rare and technically interesting vehicle.
