1/35 Panzer IV J Last Workable Trucks - Border Model BT-008

The Border Model BT-008 1/35 Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. J – Last Production with Workable Tracks is a premium 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Border Model, the Chinese manufacturer renowned for pushing the boundaries of 1/35 armor kit quality with metal barrels, photo-etched detail, workable tracks, and full interior treatments as standard features.

The Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. J was the final production variant of Germany's most numerous tank of the Second World War, and ironically one of the most simplified. To maintain production rates as Germany's industrial capacity eroded under Allied bombing, the Ausf. J eliminated the electric turret traverse motor (replaced by a simple hand crank), increased fuel capacity by adding an additional fuel tank where the motor had been, and incorporated numerous other simplifications. Last-production Ausf. J vehicles built in early 1945 show the most extreme simplifications including the distinctive single-piece cast steel return rollers that replaced the earlier spoked type. Despite these economies, the Ausf. J remained a capable fighting vehicle through the final battles in Germany and Hungary. Border Model's BT-008 captures this final evolution with workable individual link tracks and full Border Model premium features.
