Historical Background:

The Land-Wasser-Schlepper (LWS, 'land-water tractor') was a unique German amphibious vehicle designed to tow pontoon ferries and supply rafts across rivers and water obstacles. Developed in the late 1930s, it was used during the planned (but never executed) Operation Sea Lion invasion of Britain, and later saw service on the Eastern Front crossing rivers during the 1941-1942 campaigns. Only around 21 were built, making it one of the rarest German WWII vehicles.

• Photo-etched detail parts
