The Rheinbote (Rhine Messenger) was a German four-stage solid-fuel ballistic rocket developed by Rheinmetall-Borsig and used operationally in 1944–45. With a range of up to 220km, it was the longest-range rocket weapon deployed by Germany in the war. Fired from a wheeled launcher, it was used in small numbers for bombardment missions, including attacks on Antwerp in late 1944. Although not a major strategic weapon, the Rheinbote represented cutting-edge German rocket technology of the era.
