1/35 8.8cm Flak on 9t VOMAG – DAS WERK DW35024

The Das Werk DW35024 1/35 8.8cm Flak auf 9t VOMAG is a premium 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Das Werk, the German manufacturer known for releasing highly accurate kits of unusual, rare, and specialist German military vehicles that other manufacturers rarely tackle.

The 8.8cm Flak auf 9t VOMAG was one of Germany's most unusual and powerful improvised self-propelled anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons — the legendary 8.8cm Flak 18 gun mounted on the flatbed of a VOMAG 9t heavy truck. The VOMAG (Vogtländische Maschinenfabrik AG) was a heavy multi-axle truck chassis selected for the mount because it provided a stable, mobile platform capable of carrying the weight of the Flak gun while maintaining road and limited cross-country mobility. These improvised Flak platforms served in North Africa and on the Eastern Front, where their ability to engage both aircraft and armored targets made them extremely versatile despite the crew's lack of protection. The combination is visually dramatic — the massive gun on its truck platform towers over conventional AFVs — and Das Werk's DW35024 is the definitive 1/35 scale treatment of this rare and important subject, confirmed from the Volgograd fighting and North Africa campaigns.
