The Das Werk DW35042 1/35 Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther G2 – Super Blitz is a premium 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Das Werk, the German manufacturer known for releasing highly accurate kits of unusual, rare, and specialist German military vehicles that other manufacturers rarely tackle. It is part of Das Werk's innovative 'Super Blitz' series — premium-quality kits designed for quick, enjoyable building at an accessible price point.
The Jagdpanther (Sd.Kfz.173) is widely regarded as the finest tank destroyer of the Second World War — a superb combination of the 8.8cm Pak 43/3 L/71 anti-tank gun, the excellent Panther chassis, and well-sloped armor in a low-profile, highly mobile package. The G2 variant — the final and most refined production series — featured the engine bay of the Panther Ausf. G, a larger bolt-on gun mantlet replacing the earlier welded type, and a two-piece 8.8cm KwK 43/4 L/71 cannon. These improvements simplified maintenance and enhanced structural integrity of the gun mount. Jagdpanthers served with the schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilungen from 1944 until the end of the war, achieving remarkable kill ratios against all Allied armor types at combat ranges. Das Werk's DW35042 is the second kit in their 'Super Blitz' series — a premium-quality kit at an exceptional price point, with metal barrel, PE parts, and six different marking options.
