F4U Corsair Metal Model Kit – Metal Earth MMS035

The Fascinations Metal Earth MMS035 F4U Corsair 3D Metal Model Kit is a premium laser-cut 3D steel model kit from the Metal Earth range by Fascinations. Each Metal Earth kit begins as flat 4-inch square steel sheets with laser-etched detail, and the pieces are simply popped out and connected using the included tab-and-hole system — no glue or solder required.

The Vought F4U Corsair was America's most capable carrier-based fighter of World War II — but its long nose and poor forward visibility on approach led the US Navy to initially assign it to land-based Marine Corps units. The Corsair proved devastating in both air combat and ground attack, earning the Japanese nickname 'Whistling Death' from the sound its oil cooler intakes made in a dive.
