The Gecko Models 35GM0075 1/35 Modern Military Defence Gabion Set is a highly detailed injection-molded plastic kit from Gecko Models, the Hong Kong-based manufacturer renowned for its finely detailed military vehicles, figures, and diorama accessories covering WWII British and Commonwealth subjects, Vietnam War-era scenes, and modern military subjects.
Defensive gabions — wire mesh cages filled with earth, gravel, or rocks — are among the oldest forms of military fieldworks, used since the medieval period and still in widespread modern use. Contemporary military gabions (HESCO-type or welded wire baskets) provide rapid blast and ballistic protection for FOBs, checkpoints, and headquarters positions. They feature prominently in modern military operations from Iraq and Afghanistan to Ukraine, making them essential details for any contemporary or recent conflict diorama.
