The Gecko Models 35GM0118 1/35 Mini Shop in US Military Base (Vietnam War Era) is a highly detailed injection-molded plastic kit from Gecko Models, the Hong Kong-based manufacturer renowned for its finely detailed military vehicles, figures, and diorama accessories covering WWII British and Commonwealth subjects, Vietnam War-era scenes, and modern military subjects.
US military bases in Vietnam ranged from massive installations like Long Binh Post to small forward operating bases. Soldiers found ways to create comfort wherever they were stationed, and informal mini shops selling snacks, drinks, and sundries run by local Vietnamese vendors were a familiar feature of many bases. This kit recreates a US Army 8-foot CONEX container converted into a small shop, complete with interior fittings, an American soldier figure, a dog, sandbag protection, and waterslide decals — a unique and evocative slice of Vietnam War base life.
Key Features:
- Richly detailed scene-setting components for Vietnam-era dioramas
- Figures included for immediate animation
- Authentic props, decals, and accessories for period accuracy
- Photo-etched parts where applicable for fine detail
