1/35 French R39 Light Tank with FCM Turret – HobbyBoss 83894

The Hobby Boss 83894 1/35 French R39 Light Tank with FCM Turret is a premium 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Hobby Boss, the Chinese manufacturer that has built a strong reputation for producing detailed kits of unusual and specialist subjects — particularly rare Soviet, Hungarian, and pre-war vehicles — that other manufacturers have not tackled.

French light tanks and captured conversions represent a fascinating sub-category of WWII AFV modeling. The R35 and R39 were France's most numerous infantry tanks of 1940 — simple, lightly armed but reasonably armored vehicles that served in large numbers before France's defeat. Many captured R35s were pressed into German service in various conversions including the Pak(t) tank destroyer on the Pz.35 R 731(f) chassis. The R39 with FCM turret represents a variant fitted with the improved FCM 36 turret.
