The KA Models MD-20024 1/200 DKM Scharnhorst DX Pack (for Trumpeter) is a premium 1/200 scale naval aftermarket detail set from KA Models (also marketed as MK1 Design), the South Korean manufacturer renowned for producing the highest-quality brass, resin, and wooden deck upgrade sets for 1/200 scale naval and 1/35 scale armor models.
The DKM Scharnhorst was the Kriegsmarine's most successful commerce raider and one of the most formidable German surface warships of the Second World War. Together with her sister Gneisenau, Scharnhorst participated in Operation Cerberus (the Channel Dash of February 1942), sank the carrier HMS Glorious and her escorts in June 1940, and conducted the Atlantic commerce raiding operation that sank 22 merchant ships. She was finally sunk at the Battle of North Cape on 26 December 1943 by HMS Duke of York and escorting cruisers.
