1/35 US Heavy Wrecker Ward LaFrance M1000 series 1 - Thunder Model TM35009

The Thunder Model TM35009 1/35 1/35 US Heavy Wrecker Ward LaFrance M1 Series 1 is a premium 1/35 scale kit from Thunder Model. Thunder Model is a Chinese manufacturer that has built a strong reputation for producing highly detailed 1/35 scale kits of engineering, transport, and utility vehicles — subjects that other manufacturers have largely ignored. Their range covers US Army engineering tractors and heavy wreckers, the British Scammell Pioneer family, LRDG patrol vehicles, German railway wagons, and other specialist subjects that are available from no other manufacturer in 1/35 scale.

The Ward LaFrance M1 Heavy Wrecker was the US Army's primary heavy recovery vehicle of the Second World War — a massive 6×6 truck with a Holmes W-45 wrecker body capable of recovering disabled Sherman tanks, half-tracks, and other heavy vehicles from the battlefield. Powered by a Continental 6-cylinder engine, the M1 served with the Ordnance Corps' maintenance companies across all theaters. Thunder Model's Ward LaFrance series covers four distinct variant configurations, each with specific equipment differences. Series 1 captures the initial production configuration.
