1/200. USS Yorktown CV-5 - TRUMPETER 03711

The Trumpeter 03711 1/200 USS Yorktown CV-5 is a highly detailed injection-molded plastic model kit from Trumpeter, the Chinese manufacturer renowned for its extensive range of large-scale warships, 1/35 military vehicles and helicopters, and specialty military subjects.

USS Yorktown (CV-5) was a Yorktown-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1937 and one of the US Navy's most distinguished warships. She participated in several early Pacific raids before her defining moment at the Battle of Coral Sea (May 1942), where she was badly damaged but returned to action in just 72 hours at Pearl Harbor for the Battle of Midway (June 1942). At Midway she played a crucial role in the destruction of four Japanese carriers before being struck by Japanese aircraft and submarines. She sank on 7 June 1942, one of the most dramatic losses of the Pacific War.
