1/200 F4F-4 (Grumman F-4F Wildcat) - TRUMPETER 04205

The Trumpeter 04205 1/200 F4F-4 Wildcat is a highly detailed injection-molded plastic model kit from Trumpeter, the Chinese manufacturer renowned for its extensive range of large-scale warships, 1/35 military vehicles and helicopters, and specialty military subjects.

The Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat was the US Navy's standard carrier fighter at the outbreak of WWII and the aircraft that bore the brunt of fighting against Japan's Zero in the early Pacific campaign. Though inferior to the A6M Zero in climb, speed, and maneuverability, the Wildcat's rugged construction and self-sealing tanks gave American pilots a survivability advantage. F4F-4 Wildcats flew from USS Hornet, Yorktown, Enterprise, and Wasp at the Battle of Midway. This 1/200 scale kit is sized to complement the 1/200 carrier ship kits in the Trumpeter range.
