1/200 SBD (Douglas SBD Dauntless) - TRUMPETER 04207

The Trumpeter 04207 1/200 SBD Dauntless is a highly detailed injection-molded plastic model kit from Trumpeter, the Chinese manufacturer renowned for its extensive range of large-scale warships, 1/35 military vehicles and helicopters, and specialty military subjects.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless was the most important American naval aircraft of WWII, responsible for sinking more Japanese shipping than any other Allied aircraft. At the Battle of Midway on 4 June 1942, SBD Dauntlesses from USS Enterprise and Yorktown sank four Japanese fleet carriers — Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu — in five minutes of attack, turning the tide of the Pacific War. The Dauntless continued in service through 1944, providing reliable dive-bombing capability throughout the island-hopping campaign. This 1/200 scale kit complements the 1/200 carrier ship kits in the Trumpeter range.
