The ICM 35618 Feldküche set brings an essential element of everyday military life during World War II to your 1/35 scale dioramas. Produced using 100% new molds, this plastic model kit accurately depicts a German field kitchen (Feldküche) along with cook personnel, offering a highly detailed and story‑rich addition to WWII German scenes.
Historical Background
German armies in WWII relied heavily on mobile field kitchens to provide hot meals to soldiers whenever possible. The Feldküche, often nicknamed the “Gulaschkanone” (goulash cannon), was a familiar sight behind the front lines, in camps, villages, and temporary rest areas. Maintaining regular meals was critical for morale, endurance, and combat effectiveness, especially during prolonged operations.
Field kitchens operated close to the front but typically remained in rear‑area or support zones, where cooks prepared food for infantry, armor crews, and support personnel. Scenes centered on Feldküchen reflect the human and logistical side of warfare, highlighting daily routines rather than combat.
