The Master Box 1/35 LRDG in North Africa – Long Range Desert Group Figure Set (Master Box 3598) is a highly detailed plastic model kit from Master Box Ltd., the Ukrainian manufacturer celebrated for its expressive figure sculpting, narrative diorama sets, and outstanding historical accuracy.
The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) was a British Army special forces unit that operated deep behind Axis lines in the North African desert from 1940 to 1943, conducting reconnaissance, sabotage, and combat operations across vast distances of the Libyan and Egyptian desert. Operating in specially modified Chevrolet trucks, the LRDG navigated by stars and sun compass, living off the land for weeks at a time. Their unconventional appearance — a mix of Arab dress, British khaki, and improvised protective clothing — makes them one of the most visually distinctive Allied units of WWII.
Key Features:
- 1/35 scale LRDG special forces figure set
- Authentic LRDG unconventional dress — keffiyeh, shorts, improvised clothing
- Multiple patrol and vehicle-crew poses
- Lewis gun, rifles, and personal weapons
- Ideal for LRDG truck and deep desert diorama builds
Master Box is widely respected among figure modellers for its storytelling approach to kit design — each set captures a specific human moment in vivid, anatomically accurate sculpting that rewards skilled painters with museum-quality results. Master Box figures and vehicle kits are equally popular with diorama builders seeking authentic, character-driven compositions.
