1/35 DKM TYPE, VII-C U-BOAT - Border BS-001

The Border Model 1/35 DKM Type VII-C U-Boat Upper Deck & Bridge (BS-001) is a highly detailed plastic model kit.

The Type VII-C U-boat was the backbone of the German submarine fleet — the most produced U-boat type of WWII, with 568 built. At the height of the Battle of the Atlantic in 1942, they were sinking Allied shipping at a rate that threatened to strangle Britain's war effort. Displacing 871 tons submerged and armed with 14 torpedoes plus a deck gun, the Type VII-C was formidably effective but highly vulnerable to improving Allied anti-submarine warfare. Boats like U-96 (depicted in the film Das Boot) and U-47 (which sank HMS Royal Oak at Scapa Flow) became legendary.
