1/35 German Submariners Commanders - Border BR-003

The Border Model 1/35 German Submariners Loading a Torpedo (5 Figures) (BR-003) is a highly detailed plastic model kit.

Torpedo loading was one of the most demanding and dangerous tasks aboard a WWII U-boat. In the cramped interior of a Type VII-C submarine, up to 14 torpedoes were stored — five in the forward tubes and two in the stern, with reloads stored under the crew's bunks. Loading a 1,534 kg (3,382 lb) G7e torpedo into a tube took an experienced crew about 15 minutes. This grueling process was depicted in the acclaimed film Das Boot and represents the human side of submarine warfare in vivid detail.
